LEONARD SOUKUP, 97, of Spillville, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco. Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. There will be a rosary at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday morning before the visitation. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Leon-ard is survived by his children: Mary Ellen (Sheldon) Praska, Cresco; Dr. Margaret (Al) Soukup, Astoria, Ore.; Madonna (Mike) Dunn, Georgetown, Texas; Leonard R. Soukup, Cresco; Dr. M. Julia (Drew) Casner, Ridgeway; Lawrence (Lori) Soukup, Ridgeway; Lonnie (Luann) Soukup, Ridgeway; Melanie (Aaron) Boor, Jewell; Melinda (Mike) Bielefeld, Lime Springs; and Les Soukup, Ridgeway; grandchildren: CJ (Christine) Koletz, Tary (Brenda) Koletz, Devyn (Matt) Matthies, Mindy Myers, Lyn Benson, Megan McLoughlin, Mi-chael Dunn, Michaela Dunn, Veronica Juneau, Jessica (Tim) Craft, Larah (Mark) Webb, Meagan (Dr. Ad-itya) Devalapalli, Landon Soukup, Erin (Tyler) Plein, Amy (Elliot) Evanson, Kaitlyn Boor, MacKenzie Boor, Emma (Kyle) Wentzel, Dana Boor, Chris Boor, Tyson Wallis, Latrice (Kyle) Sindelar, Alexis (Datton) Schilling; along with 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe (Janet) Tekippe, Sherrill; sister-in-law, Roseanne Nienhaus, Decorah; and many nieces and nephews.
