Lucas Ray Schloesser, 16-month-old son of Tiffany Colsch and Casey Schloesser, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Adam Starrett officiating. Friends may greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.
Lucas Ray Schloesser was born March 1, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, Wis. He was baptized in both the Catholic and Lutheran churches. He was the happiest, most beaming little boy who never had a crabby morning and was full of hugs. Lucas loved his big brother, who taught him how to “wrestle”, and loved his fuzzy blanket. About two weeks after learning how to walk, Lucas decided he would run everywhere from then on out, regardless of balance. He had a certain strut- shoulders back and chest out- but would get suddenly very shy when his mom wanted to see him walk, insisting instead on being carried around. Lucas would dance to ZZ Top and rap music and his favorite word was “hmmm”. He loved his hot wheels cars, dogs, cottage cheese, and Cheetos.
Lucas is survived by his mom, Tiffany Colsch; his dad, Casey Schloesser; big brother, Ayden Jay Schloesser; and grandparents: Nicholas Colsch, Jeannette Marmo, Jaime (Vikki) Schloesser, and Rhonda (Rick) Langland.
Honorary casketbearers are his brother Ayden, his grandparents, and Terry, Sr and Sue Grotegut. Casketbearers are Casey Schloesser, Terry Grotegut, Cody Phillips, and Cody Beavers.
