LuVerne I. Rosenbaum, 92, of Dodgeville, Wis., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Private services will be held with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dodgeville, Wis. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Attic Angels Assisted Living facility in Middleton, Wis. and St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wis.

LuVerne was born June 12, 1925, in Decorah, the daughter of Victor and Laura (Knoke) Berge. She graduated from Decorah high school in 1944, and worked as a secretary in the Winneshiek County Extension office, where she met her future husband. She married Harold Rosenbaum of Ossian/Decorah June 14, 1948.

Together they lived in Decorah, Warren, Ill. and Postville, while Harold worked for Oscar Mayer as a livestock buyer. In 1969 they moved to Dodgeville, Wis., where Harold was employed as an independent buyer. LuVerne assisted Harold in the livestock business as a bookkeeper/ accountant.

They raised five children: Judy (Gene) Damon, of Halifax, Mass.; John (Vicky) Rosenbaum of Mt. Horeb, Wis.; James (now deceased); Dale, of Anchorage, Alaska; and Lora, of Elm Grove, Wis. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and wintering in Arizona for the last 25-plus years.

LuVerne is survived by her four children, and three grandchildren: Stacy, of Chicago, Ill.; Kari, of Fitchburg, Wis.; and Ryan (Grace) of Madison, Wis.

Her parents, her son Jim and her husband, Harold, preceded her in death.
