Margaret Krambeer, 69, of rural Decorah, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Good Samaritan in Waukon. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Glenwood Lutheran Church, 1197 Old Stage Road, with Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson presiding. Burial was in the Glenwood East Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Glenwood Lutheran Church, 1197 Old Stage Road and also after 10 a.m. at the church Wednesday morning. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Margaret Mina (Gramlich) Krambeer was born Feb. 7, 1950, the daughter of Daniel Emil and Ella Mae (Pratt) Gramlich at the Waukon General Hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon. Margaret attended elementary school in Waukon, and graduated from Waukon High School. After graduation, she worked various babysitting jobs. She married Dennis Krambeer May 23, 1970, at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon by Pastor William J. Tjaden. Margaret worked at Wapsie Produce in Decorah. She enjoyed watching Dennis and Ken Lough play softball and going to her children’s activities. She loved to bake, play cards and do crossword puzzles. She was an active member of Glenwood Lutheran Church and the ladies aid. Throughout her life, Margaret was a thoughtful, caring and loving wife, mom, grandma and aunt. She was known for helping in the garden and making baked goods with others. After her first surgery, she started listening to Little Dale on Saturday mornings and hardly missed a Saturday.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, DeAnn Krambeer, Decorah; sons, Tony Krambeer, Decorah and Alex (Angela) Krambeer, Decorah; grandsons, Xander and Logan Krambeer and one step-grandson, Ron Olivier Jr.; brothers and sisters: Gerald “Butch” (Mary) Gramlich, Waukon; Gloria (Ken) Lough, Waukon; Bob (Diane) Gramlich, Waukon; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne Kirkeby, Decorah; Dolores Hughes, Frankville; Nona (Wayne) Stone, Lansing; Gordon (Mary) Krambeer, Hiawatha; Tom Krambeer, Overbrook, Kan.; Ned Krambeer; Jerry (Janice) Krambeer, Decorah; along with many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ella Mae (Pratt) Gramlich; sister, Linda Kirkeby; grandparents, Anton and Olive Pratt; father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Olga (Livingood) Krambeer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dick Hughes, Shirley (Homer) Evert; Margaret Krambeer; Ronald (Carole) Krambeer; Lawrence Jr (Carolyn) Krambeer; niece, Kim Wilhelm.
