MARILYN BIRDSELL, 60, of rural Postville, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at her home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 15, at the First Lutheran Church, 604 West Broadway, with Rev. Chad Huebner presiding. Burial is at the Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 14, at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, and after 10 a.m. at the church Saturday morning. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Richard; three children: Kari (Jason) Pace, Peosta; Justin (Michele) Birdsell, Decorah; Jeremy Birdsell, Postville; grandchildren: Kolt and Klay Pace and Wyatt, Addison and Riley Birdsell; mother, Hazel Stortz, Decorah; five sisters: Linda Rosen, Minneapolis, Minn.; Jackie (Phil) Rustad, Decorah; twin sister, Marsha (Larry) McCabe, Decorah; Jerilyn (Larry) Hageman, Decorah; and Janean (Stan) Shinek, Calmar; mother and father-in-law, Virgil and Audrey (Linderbaum) Birdsell, Ossian; sister-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Babcock, New Hampton; brother-in-law, Paul Birdsell, Ossian; along with many nieces and nephews.
