Marlene Theresa Rose Bohach was born April 1, 1953, to William and Dorothy (Hackman) Bohach of Fort Atkinson. She was baptized at St. Wenceslaus in Spillville and attended school there through 8th grade. She graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1972, and then completed a cosmetology degree through Area I. She ran her own beauty shop in Spillville until getting a job at Rockwell Collins in Decorah. She joined Rockwell as an assembly operator and worked there from 1979 until August of 2016. A quiet and gentle person, Marlene’s talents were shown best through her hands. After soldering radio boards all day, Marlene would come home and use her hands to create things of beauty and comfort. She was a passionate quilter, knitter, crocheter and cross-stitcher and enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends. She found great pleasure in talking to her fellow quilters and crafters and was excited to share ideas and progress. A humble person who treasured teddy bears and flowers, Marlene was loved by all those who knew her.

Marlene is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bohach of Spillville; siblings, Mark (Barbara) Bohach of Spillville and Mary (Kenneth) Fagan of Ankeny; nephews: Adam (Flannery)Bohach of Decorah, Garrett Bohach (special friend, Kennidee DiVilbiss) of Spillville and Jacob Fagan of Ankeny; nieces: Emily (Andrew) Chamberlain of Belleview, Ky. and Rhiannon Barth of Ankeny. She also is survived by wonderful and supportive members of her “Rockwell-Collins” family.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father, William Bohach and sister, Marian Bohach (in infancy).
