He was born to August and Pauline (Christ) Klocke Nov. 15, 1922, in Lakota. He is a veteran of WW II and served three years with the Army Medical Corps. When he returned home from service he attended Wartburg College in Waverly. He married Doris Wendland Oct. 25, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye. They were blessed with four children: Kim, Linda, Diane and Kent.
Marv opened the K&S SuperValu grocery store in Decorah in 1950. Not only was he owner and manager of the store, he was mentor and advisor to many young people who started their careers working under him. He much loved and appreciated his loyal employees, many who worked for the K&S for many years, even beyond his retirement from the store in 1985. He was an active and charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was involved in the Decorah Ski Association and Nor-Ski Runs, many civic organizations, and Silvercrest and Oneota Country Clubs. In retirement he enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona.

He shared his love of the outdoors with his children. He taught them the joys of traveling and exploring the world, biking, hiking, swimming and other outdoor recreation. Marv taught them all to water and snow ski at a very young age. He was still water and snow skiing with grandchildren when he was into his 70s. Marv dearly loved all the parks in Decorah where many happy family times were spent. A highlight of his life was fishing in Canada, which he enjoyed with friends and family for nearly 40 years. Most of all, he loved and cherished his family.
Marv married Mary (Eich) Stryker Aug. 20, 1999, at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie, Minn. They spent their time between Decorah, Eden Prairie and Peoria, Arizona and then the last five years in Crystal, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his four children: Kim Klocke (MeriAnn) of Arlington, Kent Klocke (Marla) of Decorah, Linda Naeve (Randy), of Ames and Diane Krause of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren (with two on the way); four stepchildren: Doug Stryker of Brooklyn Center, Minn., Tom Stryker (Cathy) of Coon Rapids, Minn., Lynn Harrington (Dennis) of Crystal, Minn. and Laura Hatzenbuhler (Jerry) of Rosemount, Minn.; nine step-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
