Nathan Brooks

Nathan Brooks, 39, of Mason City, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at his home in Mason City. A funeral service was at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. Visitation was 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel. Visitation also was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In Lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions in care of Nate’s family.

Nathan Blake Brooks was born Aug. 8, 1976, in Mason City, the son of Randy and Kristi (Bolson) Brooks. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1995, before enlisting in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1999. Nate married Carrie Priebe April 1, 1998, at St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City. They later divorced, but remained close friends. Nate worked many places over the years, but he was most proud of his work at Metal Fabrications Inc. in Clear Lake, where he worked as a powder coater, welder and fabricator. His priority in life centered on his three children and new grandson. Those that knew Nate knew his infectious laughter and smile.

Left to cherish his memories are his children: Brandon Brooks, Jenna Bowers and Danika Brooks, all of Mason City; his grandson, Samual Brooks, Mason City; parents, Randy and Kristi (Bolson) Brooks, Mason City; his sister, Melissa (Paul) Nielsen, West Point, Neb.; nieces, Brooke Nielsen and Mollie Nielsen, West Point, Neb.; nephew, Austin Nielsen, West Point, Neb.; uncle, Mark (Marion) Bolson, Thorton, Colo.; and aunts, Kathi Bolson, Decorah and Susie (Gary) Sharp, Gig Harbor, Wash.

Nate was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Marilyn Bolson; paternal grandparents, Delmar and Marcella Brooks, and an aunt, Karen Bolson.
