Patti Bielefeld, age 69, of Decorah, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her home in Decorah.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Church on Friday morning.
Patricia “Patti” (Glass) Bielefeld was born on December 23, 1953, the daughter of Paul and Beatrice “Bea” (Krivacek) Glass in Fort Atkinson, Iowa. Patti attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1972. Following graduation, she attended Area-1 in Calmar where she received her degree in Interior Decorating. Patti married Walt Bielefeld on May 22, 1982, at Phelps Park in Decorah. Patti worked for Aase Haugen and Pamida’s before working at Deco Products. She retired from Deco Products after being there over 30 – years. Patti enjoyed watching the birds, caring for her plants, baking, cooking, traveling, coloring with her friends at the VFW, and spoiling her pet kitty. She was a devoted wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Patti is survived by her husband, Walt Bielefeld of Decorah; siblings: Richard (Brenda) Glass Oelwein; Connie (Jim) McKone, Fort Atkinson; Jackie (Ivan) Lensing, Fort Atkinson; and Robert Glass, Fort Atkinson; brothers and Sisters-in-law: Debbie Fleming, Sharon (Mark) Schnieder, Mike (Melinda) Bielefeld, Ann (Gary) Kruse, Mary Bielefeld, and Don Ristau and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Beatrice “Bea” (Krivacek) Glass; step-father: Albert Tinderholt; father and mother-in-law: Walter and Lenora Bielefeld; and brothers-in-law: Ed Schmidt and Steve Fleming.
