Roger Numedahl

Roger Numedahl, 76, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Calmar, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Weather Stone House in Rochester, Minn. A private family service will be held at a later date with full military rites. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Roger John Numedahl was born Dec. 15, 1941, the son of Lester and Laura (Huber) Numedahl in Decorah. He attended St. Aloysius Catholic School through the eighth grade and graduated from Calmar High School in 1959. He attended Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minn. and then went to work for Trane Company in La Crosse, Wis. Roger enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and served in Germany until 1966. Roger worked for the US Postal service carrying mail in Cedar Rapids and Rochester, Minn., until retiring in 1997. After retirement, Roger lived in Decorah for a few years before returning to Rochester where he lived until his passing.

Roger is survived by his sisters, Susan (Dick) Leibold, Ossian and Sandra Numedahl, Lakeland, Colo.; brother, Dick (Lela) Numedahl, Decorah; sister-in-law, Patti (Frank) Graves, Decorah; along with many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Laura (Huber) Numedahl; brothers, Lester in infancy and James Numedahl in 1998.
