Ronald Allen Gjere

Ronald (Ronnie) Allen Gjere, age 63, of Spring Grove, Minn., passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, after a three-year battle with COVID long haulers.

Ronnie was born on Jan. 16, 1960 to Jerome and Clarice (Omodt) Gjere. He was a 1979 Spring Grove High School graduate. He was a lifelong Spring Grove resident. On Sept. 1, 1990, he married Sharrie Dianne Covey at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
He worked for Roverud Construction in Spring Grove for 29 years, and from June 2010 he worked for City Brewery. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Survivors include his wife Sharrie of almost 33 years; his daughter Tina (David) Alexis of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Malik of Winona, Minn., and Tamia of Dallas, Texas; his brothers Arden (Linda) of Decorah, Dave (Pam) of La Crescent, Minn., and Danny (Jody) of Spring Grove, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Clarice Gjere; his father-in-law, Duane Covey; his grandparents,Alvin and Hattie Gjere, and Mabel and Oliver Omodt; and his uncles, Harold Omodt and Walter Steele.
Ronnie loved spending time with family and friends, he really enjoyed telling his daughter and grandchildren about the good old days. Over the years Sharrie and Ronnie took many bus trips which they loved. Ronnie loved the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Gophers, he never missed a game. His great joy was driving around in his T-bird and Torino and going to car shows, and of the trophies he won with his cars. He was always up for a good party. He loved music of all kinds but really loved country music.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by his wife, his daughter, grandkids, his family and all of his friends.
Celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m.. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Elizabeth Hermeier will officiate. Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
