RONALD KRUSE, 79, of Ft. Atkinson, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Ossian Senior Hospice, Ossian, following a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 307 East Main Street, St. Lucas, with Rev. Kyle Digmann presiding. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, and also after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church. There is a rosary at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Ronald is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Nellie; four children and spouses: Judy (Jason) Mitchell of Garnavillo, Daniel (Melissa) Kruse of Ft. Atkinson, Monica (Harvey) Zweibohmer of Ossian and Denise (Jon) Hassing of Wells, Minn.; 11 grandchildren: Marty Mitchell of San Francisco, Calif., Kelsey Mitchell of Des Moines, Aubrey Mitchell of Garnavillo, Garrison, Kade and Cambree Kruse of Ft. Atkinson, Cloey and Hayden Zweibohmer of Ossian, Amber, Ashley and Evelyn Hassing of Wells, Minn.; his brother, Fr. Clarence Kruse of Dubuque; sisters: Theresa Breuer, La Crescent, Minn., Marcella Horihan, Marshfield, Wis., Clara Horihan, Waterloo, Phyllis (Al) Malin, Westby, Wis.; brother and sisters-in-law: Chester Blechinger, Marjorie Welscher, Harlan and Dorothy Gjere, Sue Stortz, Darrell and Sharon Stortz and Lawrence and Gayle Stortz; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Gertrude and Martin Kruse; mother and father-in-law, Bernadine and Henry Stortz; brother, Fr. Charles Kruse; sisters, Eileen Blechinger, Alice Kruse; brother and sisters-in-law: Bill Breuer, John Horihan, Don Horihan, Mary Lou Bahr, Joe and Leona Stortz, Harley Welscher and Erwin and Virginia Stortz.
