Sharlene Rose, 84 of Ossian, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 in Oak Creek, Wis., after a short illness (non-Covid).
She was born Aug. 13, 1936 to Peter and Martha (Sands) Bushman in Fredericksburg, Iowa. Sharlene graduated from De Sales High School in Ossian. On July 20, 1956, Sharlene was united in marriage with Bernard Wesley Rose at Westside Chapel in Fort Hood, Texas. Besides being an amazing homemaker, when the appropriate time arose Sharlene worked outside the home starting as a cook at De Sales Grade School. She also worked at Graphics in Calmar. Most will remember her for the treasures she crocheted and knitted as well as her daily walks. She enjoyed spending time with her family and would often travel with them on adventures to see new places.
Surviving Sharlene are her children, Bernard Peter (Carmen) Rose of Chantilly, Virginia, Kevin Rose of Ossian, Iowa, Monte (Lynn) Rose of Hartland, Wis., David (Stacey) Rose of Aiken, South Carolina, Rae (Kirsten) Rose of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Rebecca Rose of Fredonia, Wisconsin and Jennifer Rose of Franklin, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four sisters, Marilyn Rima of Decorah, Dianna (Robert) Einck of Ossian, Eileen (Robert) Fogarty of West Des Moines, and Eleane (Paul) Wokwicz of Kenosha, Wis.; her sisters-in-law, Henrietta Bushman, Vidys Rose and Betty Lou Rose.
A Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, with Rev. Robert Gross as the celebrant.Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery.Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian, is assisting with arrangements.
