Taylor Gerleman, age 29, of Calmar, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 304 Maryville Street in Calmar, with Rev. Henry Huber presiding. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21,, at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar. There will be no visitation prior to the service on Thursday morning. Attendees are asked to please come in and be seated.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials out to her son, Mateo. They can be mailed to 2751 Rogers Creek Rd, Fort Atkinson, IA 52144
Taylor was born on May 11, 1995, at WinnMed in Decorah, the daughter of James and Carol (Gehling) Gerleman. She graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 2013. She worked many jobs over the years, most recently at Culvers in Decorah. On Sept. 1, 2022, she had a son, Mateo Flores with Rodrigo Flores.
She enjoyed playing sports growing up, listening to country music, playing with her nieces and nephews, and above all else spending time with her son, whom she loved so much. Taylor will be remembered as a very kind person with a heart of gold, always willing to help others.
Taylor is survived by her son, Mateo Brooks; parents: James Gerleman and Carol (Darin Barta) Gerleman; brother: Brian Gerleman; sister: Ashley (Brandon) Albertson and their kids; Addyson, Gavin, Blake, Ava, and Nora Albertson; grandmother: Joanne Gerleman. and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Eugene Gerleman and Florian and Lavonne Gehling; uncles: Kenneth and his wife, Ann Gerleman, Brian Tussler, and Ronald Gehling; and cousin: Gabrielle Gerleman.
