Todd Henry, 56, of Urbana, died Dec. 28, 2022, at his home in Urbana, due to an unknown cause.
Celebration of life will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Heritage Event Center, 229 3rd Ave W, Cresco, IA, 52136.
Todd Paul Henry was born on Feb. 9, 1966 in Cresco, the son of Joe and Paulette (Whalen) Henry. He was raised outside of Bluffton, and was a 1984 graduate of North Winneshiek High School in Decorah.
After graduating, he worked on the family farm and then for Schoenfelder Farms in Rochester, Minn. After hanging up his farm gloves, he decided to give construction work a try, working at Wicks Construction before going to work at Bruening Rock Products as a heavy equipment operator/truck driver for 22 years.
In 1991 he married Rachelle Garness of Mabel, Minn., and to that union three boys were born. They later divorced. In 2003, he married Julie Linderbaum of Ridgeway, and to that union one daughter was born.
Todd enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors whether it be fishing or mowing his lawn. In his younger years he enjoyed pheasant hunting and trapping gophers. He was an animal lover and was known as an “Animal Whisperer” to his family. He loved nice cars, fixing things, and spending time in his garage.
Todd is survived by his wife, Julie; sons Tanner (Ashley Morgan) Henry in Wilmington, DE, Sawyer(Amanda) Henry in Shellsburg, and Parker (Ali Graves) Henry in Mabel, Minn., and daughter Kylie Henry in Boone; his father Joe Henry in Decorah; brother Shawn (Julie) Henry in Decorah; sisters Jolyn (Darren) Riehle in Rochester, Minn., Jill (Mike) Walton in Cresco, Nicole (Greg) Gerlach in St. Paul, Minn., and Brittnee Henry in Ridgeway; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and an upcoming granddaughter coming in a couple of weeks.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Paulette Henry; and grandparents Herbert and Isabel Henry and Paul and Zola Whalen.
