Vicky Lee Osmundson was born on March 11, 1950, to Nanfred and Beverly Meyer of Castalia, Iowa. Throughout her life, Vicky enjoyed an eclectic array of music, which remained a big part of her daily life. She went to South Winneshiek High School and graduated in 1968. Vicky married Dennis Osmundson on October 30, 1971, and celebrated 52 years of marriage. She aptly told everyone, they “had” to get married between football and wrestling season. She loved supporting both the fine arts and athletics at her alma mater. Vicky’s true joy was demonstrated when she lavished her family with all of the unconditional love she could muster. She lived her life with a compassionate heart, a vibrant personality, a hilarious sense of humor, a generous spirit; bountiful grace and elegance that she wore with delight, and a selflessness that was unmatched. Vicky’s love for the Lord, her family, her friends, and humanity is her lasting legacy. To her grandchildren, she is remembered for rootbeer floats for breakfast, multi-layered nail polish on her granddaughters fingernails, her big ‘smooches’ also known as her “big loving,” her name for her grandsons, “hunka hunka burning love,” and her plea with all of them to keep all of the sugar spoiling between the grandkids and Nana.
Vicky is survived by her husband and amazing caregiver, Dennis Osmundson of Calmar; her children Darin (Michelle) and their children, Reniya and Sofia of Minnesota, Joy (Luke) Turner and their children, Isaiah, Josiah, Elijah, and Zechariah of Minnesota, and Nathan (Joni) Osmundson and their children, Zoey, Gabriella, and Camryn of Iowa; her mother, Beverly Hartson, her uncle, Kelly (A.J.) Meyer; aunt, Nancy Meyer, her brothers Kim (Sandy) Meyer, Kevin (Kristi) Meyer, Kalen Meyer, Jake Meyer, Kasey Meyer, and her sister Val Elsbernd and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her dad, Nanfred Meyer; her stepdad, Vernon Hartson; her uncle Kenneth (Flash) Meyer and her grandmother Marie Meyer
