Wayne Hanson

Wayne Hanson, age 66, of Decorah, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at his home outside of Decorah after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 13, at the Hauge Lutheran Church, 3147 Middle Hesper Road, Decorah, with Rev. Randy Kittelson presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the Hauge Lutheran Church on Monday morning.

Wayne Edward Hanson was born on June 29, 1956, to Kenneth and Helen (Hanson). He graduated from high school at North Winneshiek in 1974. Then he graduated from Area One in Calmar, for electrical. He then started his electrical business, Hanson Electric, in 1976, later closing the business in 2001 due to his declining health. He also farmed part time on the home farm.He married Linda Lembke on June 16, 1978, at St Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. To this union two children were born: Kristi and Scott.

Wayne enjoyed time with his family, his Case tractors, farm auctions, and woodworking. He was fortunate to live his entire life on the family farm on North Winneshiek Road outside of Decorah.

Wayne is survived by his wife Linda (Lembke) Hanson; children; Kristi (Anthony) Morris of Carlisle, and Scott Hanson of Waterloo; granddaughters; Kaylee Morris and Alyssa Morris of Carlisle; sister; Diane (Wayne) Roberts of Hardy, AR. his mother-in-law; Eileen Lembke of Monona; brothers and sisters-in-law; Diane (Steve) Popelka of Clutier, Alan Lembke of Waukon, Larry (Bonnie) Lembke of Postville, and Cheryl (Dave) Brandt of Waukon. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen Hanson. Father-in-law; Norbert Lembke. Brother-in-law; Rodger Hutchinson.
