A-P stops SW girls…again

By Becky Walz,

For the third season in a row, it was Aplington-Parkersburg (18-4) hitting the brakes on the South Winn girls basketball team postseason run Tuesday, 61-22.
The Warriors struggled to get their offense rolling in the first half, with just a pair of free throws, as the Falcons pulled out front 43-2. South Winn rebounded to score 22 in the second half, but the hole was too big to climb out of.
Individual stats were unavailable at press time.
South Winn ends the season with a 7-16 overall record. The Warriors will lose two to graduation — Aubrey Willey and Loleta Ryan, but will retain a large contingent of athletes who gained valuable experience this season on the court.
