Eleven local spikers were named to the Upper Iowa Conference all-league teams, released last week.
Six members of the South Winn squad were recognized, while five Turkey Valley netters were honored.
Three athletes were heralded as first-team honorees. South Winn’s Katrina Hageman and Abby Wager, along with Turkey Valley’s Adriana Tiedt were recognized.
Hageman was a unanimous decision this season for the second time in her career. She was named to the honorable mention team as a sophomore. With 219 kills and 192 digs, Hageman led the Warriors in both categories, in addition to serving up a team-high 43 aces as she went 202-for-226 at the service line.
Moving up from a second-team honoree last season, Wagner averaged 1.3 kills per set, tallying 84 total. The SW junior also provided 113 digs, 14 total blocks and boasted a 94.4 percent serve efficiency, going 202-for-214 with 27 aces.
As another unanimous decision among the UIC coaches was Tiedt, who earned her third all-UIC first team nod in a row, surpassing the 500 kill mark for her career at Turkey Valley. The senior averaged 2.6 kills per set and led the Trojans with 184 total kills in 530 attack attempts. Tiedt also provided 170 digs and served 180-for-201 with 21 aces.
Two Warriors and two Trojan were named to the second-team list.
Back on the court for her senior season after sitting with an injury her junior year, Avery Humpal produced 83 kills and 136 digs for the Warriors. She also served 234-for-252 with 22 aces.
Earning her first conference nod, South Winn’s Ella Theis dished out a team-high 245 assists and grabbed 79 digs. During her sophomore season, Theis also went 249-for-289 in serves with 36 aces.
Playing all around the court, Maici Weber earns her first All-UIC nod on the second team as the Trojans’ leading setter. The sophomore dished out 389 and surpassed the 500 career mark this season. In addition, she had 71 kills, 39 total blocks (13 solo, 26 assists) and 139 digs. M. Weber finished the season with a 93.1 percent efficiency at the service line, going 149-for-160 with 16 aces.
Kinsey Reicks also was named to the All-UIC list for the first time in her career as one of the Trojan’s middle hitters who collected 72 kills and had a team-high 51 total blocks (15 solo, 36 assists). She also had 63 digs and went 231-for-246 in serves for a 93.9 percent efficiency with 23 aces.
South Winn and Turkey Valley also had two athletes each named honorable mention.
Middle hitter Ivey Franzen led the Warriors at the net with 34 total blocks including 14 solo and 20 assisted stops. The junior also pounded out 90 kills.
Avery Luzum, one of the Warriors’ setters, handed out 202 assists during her junior campaign to get her first conference nod. She also came up with 73 digs and served 171-for-198 with 31 aces.
After finishing the season with more than 1,000 career digs as a Trojan, H. Weber led the Trojans with 238 digs this year. She also served 220-for-232 with 21 aces, for a 94.8 percent serve efficiency. The senior had previously been on the second team All-UIC list twice.
Filling in a variety of roles, Throndson earned her first conference honor. The senior had the best serve efficiency at 96.1 percent, going 222-for-231 with 17 aces. She also finished her career with 81 digs and 69 assists this season.
