Baseball postseason starts July 10

Postseason brackets for Class 2A and 1A for the baseball tournaments were released recently. Decorah is in Class 3A. Those brackets haven’t been released yet.
South Winn and Turkey Valley are both in Class 1A District 4. The Warriors will host Ed-Co Saturday, July 10 at 5 p.m., followed by the contest between the Trojans and Saint Ansgar at 7 p.m. The winners of those two games will advance to the district semifinal Tuesday, July 13, in Calmar at 7 p.m. Kee will host two games Saturday, July 10 as well. The Hawks will battle Riceville at 5 p.m., with MFL Mar Mac and Wapsie Valley squaring off at 7 p.m. New Albin will be the site for the district semifinal Tuesday, July 13, between the winners at 7 p.m. The district final is Saturday, July 17, in New Albin at 7 p.m. The District 4 champion faces the District 3 winner Tuesday, July 20, in Charles City at 7 p.m.
North Fayette Valley, Waukon and Postville are in Class 2A District 8. NFV will battle Starmont Saturday, July 10, at 5 p.m. in Waukon, followed by Waukon and Postville taking the field at 7 p.m. A win for the NFV will put the TigerHawks in the district semifinal versus Jesup Tuesday, July 13 at 5 p.m. at Jesup. The winner between the Indians and Pirates will move on to the district semifinal versus Waterloo Columbus Catholic Tuesday, July 13, at 7 p.m. in Jesup. The district final is slated for Saturday, July 17, in Jesup at 7 p.m. The substate contest will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 7 p.m.
The state baseball tournament is scheduled for July 26-31, with Class 2A and Class 1A in Carroll from July 26-29, and Class 4A and Class 3A in Iowa City from July 28-31.
