Cold offensive night for SW

By Becky Walz,

The South Winn girls’ basketball team (2-12, 2-10 UIC) could not find an offensive rhythm versus Sumner-Fred (11-5) on the road Thursday, falling 55-10 in non-conference action.

“It was a tough night. Sumner-Fred was much bigger and stronger than we are and it really showed. We really struggled to get the ball inside and when we did, we couldn’t do anything with it,” said Coach Justin Izer.

The Warriors were held to single digits in each of the four periods, scoring two free throws in the first quarter, followed by a Mary Frana shot from behind the arc in the second period.
