Decorah overwhelms NH, 70-36

Not even the weather could stop the Class 4A No. 6 Decorah girls’ basketball team (16-2, 8-0 NEIC) as the Vikings defeated New Hampton (7-10, 2-6 NEIC) at home Friday, 70-36.
Decorah created a large gap in the scoring in the first with a 24-10 advantage that grew to 49-25 by halftime. Solid Viking defense and opportunities scoring pushed Decorah over the top in the second half as the Vikes outscored the Chickasaws 23-11 for the win.

   Decorah hosts Independence Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., and finishes the week at Waukon Friday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m.
