Dolphin gymnasts compete at state; Averhoff first in all-around

After a strong competition season, members of the Decorah Dolphin Gymnastics Team earned a trip to the Iowa Xcel State Championships held at Wartburg College in Waverly, March 19 – 21.   
Competing Xcel Gold was Kamryn Steines finishing sixth on floor exercises.
Competing Xcel Silver was Rylee Averhoff, Erin Egan and Ana Simon. Averhoff finished second on beam and vault vault, fourth on bars and on floor, and was crowned the Iowa State Champion finishing first in All-Around; Erin Egan finished fourth on beam, and sixth on vault; Ana Simon finished second on bars, fourth on beam and vault, and finished fifth All-Around.  
The Xcel Bronze team consisted of Emma Drees finishing third on beam and on floor; Reagan Drees finished third on bars, fourth on beam, fifth on floor and was sixth All-Around; Eden Northup was a state qualifier; Vayda Robinson finished third on vault, fourth on bars, fifth on floor, and fifth All-Around; and Kinsley Tieskoetter finished second on floor, fourth on beam, fifth on bars, sixth on vault and was fifth All-Around.  
These girls will end their competition season at the Region 4 Xcel Championships which will be held this year in Cedar Rapids, April 23-25.  They will be competing against girls from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. 
Also competing from the Decorah Dolphin Gymnastics Team at the Iowa JO State Championships held in Grimes, March 26-28 was Ella Beyer. Ella finished second on vault, third on floor, fifth on beam, sixth on bars, and finished fifth All-Around.
