Final outings for Decorah girls’ golf

The Decorah girls’ golf team had their final meets of the regular season last week, first hosting Caledonia and one Waukon golfer Thursday, then facing Charles City Friday.

The Decorah girls’ golf team had their final meets of the regular season last week, first hosting Caledonia and one Waukon golfer Thursday, then facing Charles City Friday.

Triangular
Thursday was Caledonia’s day as the Warriors bested the Vikes 200 to 244 at the Oneota Golf and Country Club. Elora Schnitzler came through with a 56 to lead Decorah on the links while Hope Stahl fired a 59. A 62 by Ella Carlson and a 67 by Sophia Fahey completed the Viking scorecard, while Shelby Hageman toured the course with an 82.

Final home meet
Four Vikings took to the Oneota Golf Course and Country Club one final time in the regular season Friday versus Charles City in a 255 to 229 loss.
Medalist of the meet was Decorah’s Elora Schnitzler with a 51. Hope Stahl fashioned a 62, while Ella Carlson provided a 68 on the Viking scorecard. Rounding the team score with a 74 was Shelby Hageman. 

Regionals Wednesday
The Vikings will compete in the Class 3A regional meet at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Clear Lake Wednesday, May 18, at 10 a.m. Decorah is in Region 4 along with Algona, Charles City, Clear Lake, Crestwood, Hampton-Dumont, Independence, Iowa Falls-Alden, Vinton-Shellsburg, Waverly-Shell Rock, Webster City and West Delaware.
