Fourth quarter lifts SW boys over Central

By Becky Walz,

In its home opener Friday, the South Winn boys’ basketball team (1-1, 1-1 UIC) utilized a big final push to win 56-38 over Central Elkader (1-1, 0-1 UIC).
“We came out flat in our home opener. The first half was a struggle, we played decent defense at times, but really struggled to generate good looks on offense. We also missed several easy buckets in the first half,” said Coach Derek Taylor. “We played better in the second. Our defensive intensity picked up, we forced some turnovers and were able to hit some outside shots. Getting Keagen Streeter back on the floor was a big boost for us as well.”
