Holland member of Luther College volleyball team

By Becky Walz,

Ava Holland, a 2020 graduate of Decorah High School, is a freshman outside hitter for the Luther College volleyball team.

On Sept. 22, 2020, in response to directives from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the President’s Council of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), voted to move the fall sports of football, women’s and men’s soccer, and volleyball to the spring 2021, for the safety off all involved in these sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The volleyball schedule will be against league opponents only (eight matches total) and began Saturday, Feb. 20 versus Buena Vista University on the road.

The Norse are coached by Brittany Sisk, who begins her third year at the helm of the program.

Holland is the daughter of Steve and Krista Holland of Decorah.
