Lady Vike linksters show improvement Thursday

With the weather allowing the Decorah girls’ golf team to get on the course, the Vikings showed improvement versus Winona Senior Thursday at Oneota Golf and Country Club. Although Decorah improved, Winona still dominated the links 393-529 in the 18-hole meet.

“The weather was fantastic, and we played better than we did Tuesday, so we have to count this as a successful night,” said Coach Scott Pierce.
Medalist for the meet with a 2-round total of 90 was Winona’s Marin Keller. 
Hope Stahl led the Vikings on the links with a 115 (56-59). Touring the course with a 129 was Ella Carlson (70-59). Elora Schnitzler’s 132 (65-67) also counted for Decorah, as did Sophia Fahey’s 153 (76-77). Shelby Hageman rounded out the competitors for Decorah with a 165 (84-81).
Decorah hosted Crestwood Monday and will be at New Hampton Friday, April 29, at 4 p.m.
