Lady Vikes hammer Cadets, 72-34

Keeping its Northeast Iowa Conference record perfect, the Decorah girls’ basketball team (14-2, 7-0 NEIC) downed Crestwood (6-9, 1-6 NEIC) on the road, 72-34, Friday night.
The Vikes came out on fire with a 19-12 advantage after the first eight minutes of play. In the second period, Decorah more than doubled its lead by outscoring the Cadets 19-5 for a 38-17 lead at the break. It was another 19-point period in the third for the visitors for a 57-28 gap with eight minutes left to play.

   Decorah will step out of NEIC play Tuesday, Jan. 24, as the Vikes travel to Denver for a 6:15 p.m. game. Friday, Jan. 27, the Vikings will be back at home as they host New Hampton at 6:45 p.m.
