While the South Winn girls’ basketball team worked hard to mount a comeback Monday, it wasn’t enough to top Kee High. However, the Warriors (6-13, 6-9 UIC) rebounded to top Postville Tuesday night.
Rescheduled contest
Playing Kee High (5-13, 4-10 UIC) for the second time in a week, the Lady Warriors had to dig out of an early hole Monday in Lansing, falling short 39-36.
The Hawks put the pressure on the visiting Warriors early with a 9-6 lead following the first eight minutes. While South Winn continued to battle in the second period, Kee High scampered to a 23-14 halftime lead. After the third quarter, the Hawks continued to lead 34-22. Really getting to work in the fourth, the Warriors outscored the Hawks 16-6, but came up short in its bid to defeat Kee High for the second time this season.

Almost done

The Pirates came out hot, jumping to an early 19-5 lead. South Winn rebounded in the second period with strong play on both ends of the floor to claim an eight-point advantage at the break.
