Offense on fire for Viking boys

Everything went right for the Decorah boys’ basketball team Tuesday night as the Vikings (6-1, 3-0 NEIC) cruised to a 93-33 victory over Waukon (1-6, 0-3 NEIC).
“I am proud of the way our guys shared the ball in this game. We will need to have a good workout routines over the break to be ready to go for the second half of the season,” said Coach Jonathan Carlson.
The Vikings were in control from the very beginning, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and giving up 11, making it 21-11. The Indians scored eight points in the second period. Meanwhile the Viking offense added 28 points to go into halftime, 49-19. Decorah added 29 points in the third and 15 in the fourth to run away with the NEIC win.
The Decorah offense was led by Noah Storts, who had 20 points. Four other Vikes were in double figures, including Joe Bockman with 18, Joe Hjelle with 17, Ben Bockman with 14 and Jacob Pipho with 10.
Decorah now pauses competition until Tuesday, Jan. 4, when they host Charles City in a make-up contest from Dec. 10.
