The golf championships at Oneota Golf and Country Club were held in July and August.
The ladies’ championship was held Tuesday, July 20, with Shanna Schweinefus firing an 85 to win the championship flight. Shelly Clark won the green division with a score of 91, while Bev Dohse won the orange division by carding a 45. Winning the collegiate division with a 73 was Jaden Schweinefus.
On Sunday, Aug. 22, the men’s club championship took place with Jay Fjelstul and Logan Schweinefus going head-to-head in a sudden death playoff after each toured the course to finish with a 107. In the end, it was Fjelstul taking first. Firing of 73, Mike Meirick took first in the regular flight with Adam Schwickerath one stroke back in second place. The senior flight was won by Karl Magnuson’s 75, while Andy Nelson took second with a 77. In the super-senior flight Jim Yetter notched a 77 for first place.
