Regular season closes for Vikes

The regular season action came to an end Monday for the Decorah girls golf team (2-11) at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Charles City. The host Comets (5-12) was the victor 209 to 255.
Charles City’s Alex Wohlers fired a 50 to earn the varsity medalist honors.
For the Vikes it was Sophia Fahey coming through with a 62, with Hope Stahl and Olivia Brynsaas on her heels with 63s. Riann Oberbroeckling’s 67 wrapped up the Decorah scorecard. Shelby Hageman (71) and Elora Schnitzler (73) were also on the course for the varsity.
The Decorah junior varsity came away with a slim two-stroke win, 280 to 282, with Isabella Sailor earning the top medal with a 60. Others on the course in JV action were Drew Zwart (72), Danika Mueller (73) and Ella Carlson (75).
Wednesday, May 17, the Vikes competed in the Class 3A regional meet at Pin Oak Pub and Links in Manchester.
