The Vikings hit the hardwood running in the first quarter to keep the Comets off the board until nearly the two minute mark, taking a 12-3 lead early. By halftime Decorah had stretched its advantage to 32-20. After the break, the Vikes moved ahead farther, 48-32, with eight minutes to play and only gave up four points in the final period for the victory.
“We didn’t rebound well in the first half, but we came out in the second half and controlled the glass which allowed us to get some easy baskets in transition,” said Coach Jonathan Carlson.
