By Becky Walz,
At first glance, Tuesday’s contest between the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (9-9, 7-7 UIC) and South Winn (10-9, 8-6 UIC) looked like it would come down to the wire in Jackson Junction. However, a second half stream of Trojan baskets put the game out of reach for the Warriors, 52-35.
TV hit the hardwood running in the opening period to take a 16-12 lead; however, South Winn fought back in the second quarter to tie the score 24-24 in the final minute. After the break, it looked as if the two squads would remain deadlocked as the score remained knotted at 28-all for nearly four minutes of the period before the Trojan’s had a flurry of baskets to lead 36-30 with eight minutes to play.
The Warrior scoring drought continued into the final period, unable to score until nearly the 4:00 mark as the Trojans sped away with the lead for the eventual victory.

Four Trojans were in double figures at the end of the night, led by Calvin Bodensteiner with 14 points and eight rebounds.
