Silvercrest champions crowned

By Becky Walz,

On Sunday, Aug. 29, Silvercrest Golf and Country Club hosted its annual Men’s Club Championship on a saturated course due to recent rains. Fortunately, the hills drainage and sunny skies accommodated play as 21 participants played 18 holes of stroke play to determine the final 9-hole pairings for the championship. Scratch scores were used to determine the leaderboard outcome.
Round one was played from the white tees with rounds two and three played from the blue tees, with a par of 36 for each 9 holes.
After the completion of 27 holes in the championship standings men’s division, the scratch score results and placings were as follows: 1. Todd Neal (35-35-34=104); 2. Jake Hovden (37-35-39=111); 3. Noah Koch (38-35-38=111); 4. Stan McKernan (39-41-38=118); 5. Scott Helms (42-40-39=121).
A handicap division was decided after 18 holes and the winner was Andy Rix with a scratch score of 86, adjusted score of 66.
The women’s club champion was Deb Rima. Keenan Tyler was crowned as the boys’ junior club champion, while Bryar Duwe topped the girls’ junior club division.
