Softball pairings released for all classes

Regional softball pairings for all five classes were released last week.

Regional softball pairings for all five classes were released last week.
Decorah is in Class 4A. The Vikes will host Maquoketa to take on the Cardinals Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m., in the first round of Region 8 action. The winner will face Western Dubuque Saturday, July 9, at 7 p.m., in Epworth. The regional championship is Tuesday, July 12, at 7 p.m., at the highest remaining seed. Teams on the other side of the bracket are Central Dewitt, Clinton and North Scott.
South Winn is in Class 2A Region 8 and has a first-round bye. The Warriors first game will be versus Clayton Ridge at home Wednesday, July 6, at 7 p.m. The regional semifinal will be held in Cascade Friday, July 8, at 7 p.m., with the regional final scheduled for Monday, July 11, at 7 p.m., at the highest remaining seed. Other teams in the bracket include MFL MarMac, Postville, Cascade, Marquette Catholic, Bellevue, Wilton, Maquoketa Valley and Beckman Catholic.
Turkey Valley is in Class 1A and will host West Central Friday, July 1, at 7 p.m., in Jackson Junction. The winner will face Don Bosco Wednesday, July 6, at 7 p.m., in Gilbertville. The regional semifinal is Friday, July 8, at 7 p.m. at North Linn, with the regional finale Monday, July 11, at 7 p.m., at the highest remaining seed. Also competing in Region 7 are East Buchanan, Dunkerton, North Linn, Kee, Central Elkader, Edgewood-Colesburg and Midland.
State softball will be held in Fort Dodge July 18-22.
