South Winn girls top Eagles

By Becky Walz,

After dropping Tuesday’s contest, the South Winn girls’ basketball team (3-8, 3-5 UIC) is back in the win column after claiming the 33-28 victory over Clayton Ridge (4-7, 3-5 UIC) in Guttenberg Friday night.
With both teams struggling to get offense rolling, the Warriors held a 5-4 lead after the first eight minutes, a one-point advantage that disappeared in the second quarter. At halftime the two UIC teams were deadlocked at 13. The difference in the game came in the third period as South Winn put up 11 points and kept the Eagles in single digits again. Clayton Ridge managed to get one point closer in the final period, but it was the Warriors taking the “W.”
