By Becky Walz,

The South Winn girls’ wrestling team made the trip to Waverly Tuesday night and competed with over 200 girls from 18 schools.
Senior Isabelle Kipp reached the finals at 190 pounds and brought home silver. Kipp claimed three falls en route to the final match. In round one, Kipp threw Jenna Small of Center Point-Urbana in 1:07 to advance to the quarterfinals against West Fork’s Fernanda Remirez. There the Warrior pinned her opponent in 1:56. It took the whole first period for Kipp to turn Leah Stewart of Charles City, picking up the fall at the 2:00 mark. In the finals, the senior fell to Independence’s Rachel Eddy in 46 seconds.
