Streeter throws no-hitter for Warriors

By Becky Walz,

The South Winn baseball team (13-5) moved to 7-2 in UIC play picking up the doubleheader sweep over Clayton Ridge (3-12, 2-7 UIC) Thursday night, 11-0 and 15-4.
The first game was highlighted by a dominating pitching by sophomore Keagen Streeter, who tossed a no hitter over five innings allowing just one base runner. Nick Holien picked up his second home run on the season as the Warriors pounded out 10 hits in four innings of offense.
In game two, Clayton Ridge jumped out to the early 3-0 lead, but the Warriors responded right back with five runs of their own in the first. Jacob Herold drove in a game-high four runs while the Warriors had 11 hits in the game, including several extra-base hits.
“This was the most complete doubleheader we had played all season. Our defense continues to be very solid, and our offense is coming along well,” said Coach Alex Smith.
South Winn has a full slate of games this week. The Warriors were at Turkey Valley Monday and will be on the road again Tuesday, June 22, at North Fayette Valley for a JV/varsity twinbill at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, the Warriors are at Garnavillo versus Clayton Ridge at 4 p.m.
