The South Winn and Turkey Valley baseball teams closed out their Upper Iowa Conference schedules Tuesday in Calmar, with the Warriors (20-9, 16-2 UIC) coming out on top 2-0 over the Trojans (13-13, 11-7 UIC).
The game started out with two scoreless innings by both teams, followed by a two-run third inning by the Warriors. The first run of the game was scored by senior second baseman Carson Wenthold on an RBI single by Jamie Kuennen at the bottom of the third inning, while the second run that scored was scored by Kuennen on a wild pitch. Innings five and six, just like innings one and two, were also scoreless. The score, which was 2-0 at the end of the third inning, remained the same for the rest of the game, giving South Winn their 20th win of the season.
