SW falls to No. 10 Wapsie Valley

By Becky Walz,

The South Winn football team knew it faced a tough task Friday night, battling Class A No. 10 Wapsie Valley (4-2) at home.
The home Warriors put up a fight but fell to the Gold and Black Warriors 48-24.
“Defensively we had a hard time making run fits off tackle and they hurt us with some big runs. Offensively, we had our chances and were able to establish our own running attack,” said SW coach Jason Ohrt. “Parker Timp left everything on the field carrying the ball 38 times for 151 yards and making 10.5 tackles on defense. Our special teams’ units also played well, as Keagen Streeter made all four of his kicks and also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.”
