It’s hard to win duals without filling a line-up; however that deter the South Winn girls’ wrestling team as they competed at the Tripoli Christmas Quad Tuesday, Dec. 19.
The Warriors were defeated by Clear Lake 52-21, but came closer against the host Panthers, falling 42-30.
“We wrestled fairly well overall. With seven healthy wrestlers, we were able to cover seven of the weights. Overall we won 5-5 in matches wrestled, and scored more team points in matches we won than we gave up in matches we lost,” said Coach Ethan Adams.
Picking up two wins for the night were Kaydn Meyer (125), Grace Zweibohmer (135) and Maddy Jansen (140).
The Warriors will return to the mats following the holiday break in a tournament at Osage Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m.
