SW moves to 4-0 in UIC

By Becky Walz,

The South Winn baseball team (6-1, 4-0 UIC) started the week with a win over Turkey Valley Monday (see separate story), followed by another victory in six innings over Clayton Ridge-Central (2-8, 2-3 UIC) Tuesday at home, 11-1.
It was an easy game for the Warriors who plated a run in the first before exploding for a five-run second inning. South Winn put up two more in the third before allowing Clayton Ridge-Central to score its lone run on a wild pitch in the fifth. Three runs in the sixth ended the game on the 10-run mercy rule.
A trio of pitchers — Kole Hageman, Parker Timp and Cody Meyer — combined to throw a no hitter, the third game in a row where the Warriors haven’t surrendered a hit.
Seven Warriors had a hit in the game highlighted by a ground rule double by Carson Streeter. Others producing hits were Hageman, Parker Timp, Braiden Todd, Brody Tieskoetter, Mason Zweibahmer and Eric Greve.

Kole Hageman (WP) – 4IP, 6K; Parker Timp (RP) – 1IP, 1R, 1BB, 2K; Cody Meyer (RP) – 1IP, 1BB, 1K
