SW softball off to rough start

The first win of the season has eluded the South Winn softball team (0-3, 0-0 UIC) after a pair of non-conference games last week with Saint Ansgar and Crestwood.

The first win of the season has eluded the South Winn softball team (0-3, 0-0 UIC) after a pair of non-conference games last week with Saint Ansgar and Crestwood.

At home
On their home diamond Thursday, the Lady Warriors hosted Saint Ansgar (1-1) with the game ending in favor of the Saints in five frames, 12-0.
South Winn had just two hits in the contest, singles by Janessa Zweibahmer and Britney Hageman. Suffering the loss in the pitcher’s circle was Eryn Luzum with four innings of work.

Non-conference
South Winn traveled to Cresco to battle the Crestwood Cadets (2-0), dropping the contest 12-1 in six innings.
Abby Wagner shouldered the loss with 11 runs scored in nine hits, while ringing up three batters. Morgan Kriener and Morgan Kleve had the Warriors’ two hits with Kleve driving in the only run.
