The South Winn volleyball team (3-12, 1-0 UIC) began Upper Iowa Conference action with a win last week before going 0-3 at the Nashua-Plainfield tournament Saturday.

UIC opener
The Warriors won their conference opener on the road on Thursday evening traveling to Monona, 3-0.
In a tight first set, the Warriors came out on top with some big plays down the stretch to win 26-24. In the second set, the Warrior offense really started clicking as they cruised to the 25-16 win. In set three, the Bulldogs played their best set of the night challenging the Warriors the whole way through, but in the end South Winn walked out with the 26-24 victory.
“I was really proud of how our girls settled in and played some of their best volleyball of the season. We had some nerves early that led to service and hitting errors, but as we calmed down, we really started clicking in all facets. We were excited to get to conference play and think we are settling into a comfortable rotation to put us in a position to be competitive in each match we play,” said Coach Alex Smith
