Three Vikes named all-NEIC

Getting the meet in before the rain began later in the week, the Decorah boys’ golf team traveled to the par-70 Waverly Municipal Golf Course Monday for the Northeast Iowa Conference meet, wrapping up the 2021 season.
When it was all over, Decorah finished third in the team standings with a 354. The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks ran away with the crown with 310 points. New Hampton was second with 351.
The top 15 linksters earned all-conference honors, with the Vikings have three of them. Ethan Holthaus led the way with an 83, good for sixth overall. Ben Bockman and Jackson Knoke tied with 88 in 10th place. Coming through with a 95 was Brody Hanson to complete Decorah’s scorecard in a tie for 20th place. Also on the course were Baylor Bohr (35th, 107) and Lane Rolfs (41st, 115).
