Still without a pair of key players on the court due to injuries, the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (1-3, 0-3 UIC) couldn’t keep pace with MFL MarMac (2-1, 1-1 UIC) Tuesday night, falling 88-36 on the road.
“We were short manpower with Oliver and Caleb out. The boys are playing hard but just getting wore out because we are short right now,” said Coach John Izer. “Freshman Cale Langreck started his first game and played well for a freshman. With the first four games over, we need to buckle down and fight to get all of them.”
With 14 points, JD Kruse paced the Trojans, with fellow sophomore Logan Busta knocking down nine. In his first start, Cale Langreck added six. With two points apiece were Russell Nieman, Jordan Kriener and Braylen Byrne, while Jonah Orvis knocked down a free throw.
Keeping in the UIC, the Trojans will travel to Guttenberg to take on Clayton Ridge Friday, Dec. 8, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
