Playing with defensive energy Friday night, Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (8-9, 6-7 UIC), claimed victory over West Central (3-13, 2-10 UIC) on the road, 59-42.

Playing with defensive energy Friday night, Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (8-9, 6-7 UIC), claimed victory over West Central (3-13, 2-10 UIC) on the road, 59-42.
It took until the second quarter for the Trojan offense to fall into place as West Central controlled the first period 12-10. By halftime, the Red and White had taken control, 26-18, and continued to dominate on both ends of the floor to lead 45-26 with eight minutes to play.
Calvin Bodensteiner took the offensive lead with 16 points to accompany four rebounds and three steals. Coming off the bench, Caleb Kurtenbach and Oliver Schmitt provided nine points apiece. Connecting for seven points and seven boards was Dylan Reicks. Chase Hayek pulled down five rebounds.
