Trojans break 200-stroke barrier versus WC

By Becky Walz,

Hosting West Central Thursday, the Turkey Valley boys’ golf team defeated the Blue Devils 199 to 230, holding the team score under 200 for the first time this season. West Central does not have a girls’ golf team this year, so the TV girls did not play.
The Kurtenbach brothers, Garrett and Caleb, tied for medalist honors with identical scores of 47. Braylen Byrne was runner-up with a 48 and senior Cael Wickham came in with a 57. Other Trojans on the course were Rolin Schmitt (59), Lance Schmitt (64) and Nelson Reicks (77).
“I was happy with our play tonight, especially our freshmen. Garrett was steady once again as we look to UIC and sectional tournament play,” said Coach John Reicks.
Friday, the Trojans competed at Crestwood. For complete results from the boys’ only dual visit driftlessjournal.com.
