Trojans finished 11-5 in conference

Two games in two nights and the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (13-8, 11-5 UIC) came away with just one victory.

Non-conference
   Turkey Valley hit an offensive wall in the second half of Monday’s non-conference game as the Trojans fell to Wapsie Valley (15-4), 77-57.
   Playing on the road, the Red and White took an early lead, 17-15. The Trojans doubled its lead at halftime to go into the locker room up 31-27. The Warriors came back in the third to outscore TV 25-11 and led 52-42 with eight minutes to play. Wapsie Valley kept the momentum in the third, pouring in another 25 points to defeat the visitors.
   Noah Hanson had a double-double effort Monday with 10 points and 11 rebounds to go with three steals. Caleb Kurtenbach was another active shooter with 10 points, while Russell Nieman put up eight.

Wrapping it up
   It was a tight game Tuesday for the Trojans for nearly three quarters with Kee High (6-14, 6-10 UIC) as Turkey Valley finished up the regular season with a road win 53-42 over the Hawks.
   Kee rolled out to the early advantage 12-6 before the Trojans put together a solid second period to lead 24-19 at halftime. However, another TV scoring slump in the third allowed Kee to retake the lead, 33-28, with eight minutes to play. It took a 25-point fourth period for the Trojans to bring home the victory.
   It was even across the board for Turkey Valley with Carson Busta and Oliver Schmitt putting in 12 points apiece, while Bodensteiner connected for 10 points, snared seven rebounds to go with four steals. Hanson had a solid night, scoring seven points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
